Plico’s 2021 NGV Architecture Commission entry ///\\\\///. Our installation proposed a deconstructed structure that takes the pathway of an incomplete circle, paralleling a journey that is never complete, but evolving through movement and reflection.
The NGV Architecture Commission is an annual open competition which asks architects and designers to consider innovative ways to activate the Grollo Equiset Garden. This year the competition asked Architects and collaborators “What world will we make together, knowing tomorrow will be very different to today?”.
Our structure ///\\\\/// represents a journey through society’s shared experiences. Dialogue, engagement with multiple perspectives, and reflection have challenged and educated, enabling society to correct past mistakes, and evolve. Our installation invited the audience to embark on a journey, where perceptions are challenged, the experience of spectator/ audience subverts, and multiple perspectives are framed through interlocking posts that alter perspective. As the journey progresses, the interlocking poles open to the sky, altering the experience between self/space in an expression of hope.
